Understanding how virtual mailbox fees work including local pickup options, plan limits, and billing adjustments helps you manage your Anytime Mailbox account with ease.
How Local Pickup Fees Work & Where to View Plan Rates
Anytime Mailbox operates in partnership with physical mail centers. Depending on your location and service plan, specific service fees may apply:
Local Pickup Fees: When you choose to pick up mail or packages in person rather than having them forwarded, local pickup fees cover the physical retrieval, identity verification, and administrative handling by mail center staff.
Where to View Your Plan Rates: Because prices and feature allowances vary by location, you can check your exact service fees (including pickup fees, additional incoming mail rates, scan costs, and shredding fees) anytime in your account:
Log into your account and navigate to Billing > Service Plan.
Rates are also clearly displayed on our website when signing up for a new mailbox.
2. Disputing Incoming Mail Charges ("Not Mine")
Mail centers scan incoming items into your digital mailbox based on your mailbox number and name.
Why Unrecognized Items Initially Count: The system automatically logs newly uploaded mail toward your monthly plan allowance. If an item is uploaded to your account by mistake or addressed to someone else, selecting "Not Mine" removes it from your main inbox view.
How to Dispute Extra Charges:
Only mail addressed directly to you or your registered business should count toward your plan limit.
If items marked as "Not Mine" cause your account to exceed its monthly incoming limit and incur an overage fee, contact Customer Support.
Our team will review backend system logs, coordinate with your local mail center to verify the recipient details, and issue a billing credit for any incorrect overage charges.
3. Waiving or Crediting Storage and Shredding Fees
In certain situations, storage or disposal fees can be waived, refunded, or credited to your account:
If technical issues or access blocks temporarily prevent you from logging into your account to manage pending mail before storage limits expire, reach out to support once access is restored to request a review of accrued storage fees.
If you requested mail handling (such as shredding or forwarding) before a deadline but execution was delayed by the mail center, any resulting storage fees can be waived or credited upon confirmation with the partner.
4. Understanding Account Credits vs. Bank Card Refunds
When a billing adjustment or courtesy waiver is approved, it will be issued as either an account credit or a bank card refund:
Account Credit:
How It Works: Added directly to your Anytime Mailbox account balance. The credit is automatically applied to your next monthly invoice or upcoming service fees.
Best Used For: Minor fee adjustments, overage credits (e.g., $0.55), or waived storage/shredding charges.
Bank Card Refund:
How It Works: Returned directly to the credit or debit card used for the transaction. Standard bank processing usually takes 5 to 7 business days to show on your statement.
Best Used For: Duplicate payments, full subscription reversals, or closing account adjustments authorized by support.
