Online Notary: How It Works & Time Required

Verifying your identity through the online notary process is quick and simple—it typically takes just 10-15 minutes. Follow these easy steps to complete the process smoothly:

Step 1:  Start Verification – Click "Complete Renter Verification" to pre-fill the USPS 1583 form.

Step 2: Begin Notary Process – Select "Use Online Notary" to proceed.
Step 3: Review & Edit – Check your form for accuracy and click "Next".
Step 4:  Device Check – Ensure your camera and microphone are working.
Step 5:  Enter Details – Provide your name, DOB, address, and last 4 SSN digits.
Step 6: Accept Terms – Click "Agree and Continue".
Step 7: Answer Security Questions – Verify your identity.
Step 8: Upload ID – Submit clear front and back photos of your ID.
Step 9:  Meet the Notary – Join a live video call to confirm your identity.

Important Tips for a Smooth Process:

  • Have your IDs ready

  • Ensure your camera and microphone are working

  • Be in a quiet, well-lit place

Once completed, the system will automatically upload your documents, and your mailbox application will be submitted for approval.
