U.S. Mailbox Location Verification Requirements

To activate your U.S. mailbox and start receiving mail, you must complete the identity verification process. This ensures the security of your mailbox and complies with USPS regulations.

To verify your identity, you’ll need:

  1. USPS Form 1583 – Fully filled out and notarized.

  2. Two Valid Forms of ID:

    • 1 Photo ID (e.g., Passport, Driver’s License)

    • 1 Proof of Address (e.g., Utility Bill, Lease Agreement)

For the full list you can access this article: Acceptable IDs

Both IDs must be current, clear, and match the information on your USPS Form 1583.

You can finish the verification online through your Anytime Mailbox portal:

  1. Log in to your account, click the “Complete Verification” section and follow the instructions from your portal.

Once submitted, your documents will be reviewed and approved by the operator at your mailbox location.
